China retaliates against US by hijacking search engines

I never thought in a million years that China would hurt the SEO world like this. While China has been known to keep a tight control over it’s country’s internet, Hi-jacking search engines is pretty scary. When American search engines lose 300-400 million users and their traffic, this hurts in more ways than most people realize. My question is, “why hurt companies finacially for the craziness that is our government?” I mean, it is not Google or Yahoo that met with the Dalai Lama. Just very troubling.
